American actor Jake Gyllenhaal is planning to celebrate his 30th birthday facing the freezing temperatures of the Arctic.
The Hollywood star, whose birthday is in December, has revealed his plans to travel to the Arctic to scuba dive with walruses.
Speaking to the New York Daily News, Gyllenhaal said: "The only reason I'm doing it is I wanted to do something that absolutely terrified me - killer whales and walruses and freezing cold water? That seems absolutely terrifying."
Gyllenhaal, who is rumoured to be dating pop singer Taylor Swift, admitted that he is not scared about turning the big three zero after talking to his sister Maggie. He said: "I was talking to my sister the other day about being 30 and celebrating the life you've had up to this point. I feel there's a massive sort of sea change coming in myself and I'm psyched."
