'Emmerdale' star Marc Silcock has said that he was shocked when his contract for the show was extended.
According to Inside Soap, the actor, who plays Jackson Walsh in the soap, said that he didn't expect to be asked back to 'Emmerdale'.
When asked what was the biggest shock that he received since joining the show, he said: "I'd say being asked to stay in 'Emmerdale'!"
"Our producer Gavin [Blyth] took me up to his office and asked if it was okay to keep me on."
"I'd expected to come in, help with the storyline and then go - so that was the biggest shock."
The actor is expected to continue playing Jackson Walsh in the soap until at least spring 2011.
