'Two and a Half Men' star Charlie Sheen was taken to a Manhattan hospital after an incident in a New York hotel.
According to the New York Post, police were called to The Plaza Hotel by hotel security at about 2am yesterday where the 45-year-old actor appeared highly intoxicated.
The paper reported that Sheen trashed his room after returning with an unidentified woman and discovering his wallet and mobile phone were missing.
However Sheen's publicist said: “Charlie had an adverse allergic reaction to some medication and was taken to the hospital."
Sheen was not arrested but was escorted by his ex-wife, Denise Richards, to the hospital.
The Hollywood star, who was one week away from completing his probation, was in New York on a family holiday with Richards and their two daughters, Sam, 6, and Lola, 5.
In August, Sheen pleaded guilty to assault after a Christmas Day altercation with his wife, Brooke Mueller Sheen.
Prosecutors dropped more serious charges and he avoided jail time, instead sentenced to 30 days in a rehabilitation centre, 30 days of probation and 36 hours of anger management.
The actor has now been released from hospital.
