'Apprentice' hopeful Kieran Walsh was the stunned fourth contestant to be booted off the show by Bill Cullen last night.
The commercial director from Cork, who was project manager for the task, said he believed Cullen made the wrong decision and he rubbished claims that he brought the wrong people back into the boardroom.
Walsh is quoted in The Daily Star as saying : "I gave Bill the opportunity of getting rid of the right people and he didn’t take it".
However rivals Tara Lee and Ciara McMahon were furious about being brought back into the boardroom after solicitor Caroline failed to clock up any sales during the task.
"You need to put your business head on and take your friendship out of it," a fuming Ciara told him.
Despite insisting that his decision was down to the girls’ performance, Bill Cullen immediately sent Ciara out of the boardroom as she sold the most on the task.
A show insider told The Star that Kieran was part of a 'clique'.
"Jamie Moran, Caroline McHugh, Niamh McDonald and Kieran and to an extent Dave Cashman are all part of this so-called 'clique' in the house," said the source.
"Kieran’s departure is the first chink in the alliance"
