Plenty of energy and some nice hooks - the first two years of The Dirty 9s have been well spent.

Working with producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers, Super Furry Animals) the Dublin quintet have made sure that their debut album is slick, short and a good ad for the live show. Now to grow their own sound beyond familiar pop-rock.

Opener 'Corridors' shows just how much they can fit in to two-and-a-half minutes right now and throughout they convince that more time in the van and in pokey rooms will do a lot for the next record.

Already they've got one big thing right that many bigger bands never cease to mess up: you can hear everyone.
