JD Salinger, the reclusive author of the classic novel 'The Catcher in the Rye', has died. He was 91.
The BBC reports that in a statement released by his literary agent, the author's son said that his father died of natural causes.
First published in 1951, 'The Catcher in the Rye' is regarded as one of the most influential works in American literature.
