Ireland lead against Egypt in Davis Cup

Ireland take a 2-1 advantage into the final day of the BNP Paribas Euro/Africa Zone Group II Davis Cup relegation play-off with Egpyt.

James Cluskey and Sam Barry won 6-2, 7-6, 6-2 against Mohamed Safwat and Sherif Sabry in the doubles contest to leave Ireland needing just one more rubber to win the tie.

James McGee will meet Mohamed Safwat in the first of today’s matches at Castleknock Tennis Club.

Sam Barry takes on Karim Maamoun in the final match of the contest.
