Team Ireland swimmer Michael Williamson, joined Emma Robinson in achieving the 'A' qualifying time for the Olympics when he swam at the British Trials yesterday.
Competing in the 200m breaststroke, Williamson finished in second in the semi-finals in a time of 2:14.18, just .02 inside the qualifying time of 2.14.20. The Irishman did not actually compete in the final, which was restricted to British swimmers.
Williamson and Robinson, are among the swimmers competing at the forthcoming Irish Long Course Championships, to be held in the National Aquatic Centre, Abbotstown from Friday April 16th to Sunday April 18th.
