St Patrick’s Athletic have signed American midfielder Morgan Langley from American club Harrisburg City Islanders.

The 25-year old, who hails from Honolulu, Hawaii has previous experience in the MLS  in America with Philadelphia Union, but joins on the back of four productive  years with Harrisburg having scored 15 goals and 12 assists to his name.

Prior to his spell with the Islanders, Langley had a successful spell with Swarthmore College, where in 2010, he scored 14 goals and recorded 14 assists in a year that saw him claim the prestigious Centennial Conference Player of the Year award as well as being voted onto the league’s ‘Team of the Year’.

Speaking to www.stpatsfc.com about his new signing, Saints’ manager Liam Buckley spoke of his happiness at adding Langley to his squad for the 2015 season.

“I’m delighted to welcome Morgan to the club, and really pleased
we have been able to complete his transfer," he said.

"Morgan is a player who has been recommended to me and after scouting him, we feel he can come in and do a good job for us. He’s an attacking player who we feel can add goals to the team and help us push on this season.”

Langley, who has been granted his work permit, could be in line to make his début against Bray Wanderers in St Pat's first SSE Airtricity League home game of the season this Friday should he receive international clearance.
