Minnows Cambridge to clash with Manchester United in FA Cup

League Two side Cambridge United snared a dream FA Cup draw after they were paired with Manchester United in the fourth round of the competition.

The lowest-ranked side left in the competition will host Louis van Gaal's Red Devils at Abbey Stadium on the weekend of 24-25 January.

A total of 79 league places separate Richard Money's side with the 11-time winners but, as has been seen on so many occasions before, that does not always matter in the FA Cup.

"It's a game you can only dream of and there were just so many emotions going through my mind when the draw was made," Cambridge manager Richard Money told the Daily Telegraph.

"I'm not counting my chickens just yet but I'd expect the game to be selected for live television so it will obviously be a huge boost financially," he added.

New Brighton boss Chris Hughton will pit his wits against Arsene Wenger and Arsenal when the current holders travel to the Amex Stadium.

Veteran striker Emile Heskey is set for a return to Anfield with Bolton after drawing his former club Liverpool, who beat League Two side AFC Wimbledon 2-1.

The only guaranteed all-Premier League tie sees Burnley or Spurs, who drew tonight, drawn at home against Leicester.

Southampton and Crystal Palace will contest a second top-flight cup tie if the Saints overcome Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich in their third-round replay.

Chelsea could face London rivals Millwall if the Lions come through their replay with Bradford City.

The draw for the fourth round of the FA Cup is as follows:

Southampton/Ipswich v Crystal Palace
Cambridge United v Manchester United
Blackburn Rovers v Swansea
Chelsea v Millwall/Bradford
Derby v Scunthorpe/Chesterfield
Preston v Sheffield United
Birmingham City v West Brom
Aston Villa v Bournemouth
Cardiff v Reading
Liverpool v Bolton
Burnley/Spurs v Leicester
Brighton v Arsenal
Rochdale v Stoke
Sunderland v Fulham/Wolves
Doncaster/Bristol City v Everton/West Ham
Manchester City v Middlesbrough

Ties to be played across the weekend beginning 24 January.
