Stephen Bradley has been confirmed as the new head coach of Shamrock Rovers ahead of the upcoming 2017 SSE Airtricity League season.
The former Arsenal, Drogheda and Falkirk midfielder was appointed interim manager during the 2016 season following Pat Fenlon's departure from the Dublin club, however, Bradley had to relinquish his role after a 60-day period as he was not in possession of the required coaching badges.

Bradley's former Drogheda United team-mate Sami Ristila took charge of team affairs until the end of last season, guiding the Hoops to a top-four finish, guaranteeing European football in 2017.
Bradley was recently named by the FAI on the upcoming UEFA Pro Licence course, which cleared the path for today's announcement and confirmation of the former league-winnning Rovers player taking charge of the first team once again.

Shamrock Rovers’ sporting director Stephen McPhail announced the appointment of Bradley, saying: “I am delighted to announce Stephen Bradley as the new head coach of Shamrock Rovers FC.
"Last season Stephen took on the role of interim manager. During his period in charge I witnessed first-hand his ability operating in a difficult and challenging environment.
"In my opinion, he is one of the best young coaches that I’ve seen during my time in football and he is absolutely the right man to lead the first team forward at this point in time.”
Speaking on his appointment, Bradley said “I am very honoured to accept the position of head coach at Shamrock Rovers FC. We have a huge amount of work to do but preparations for next season are already well under way and we will work night and day to make sure the team is ready to compete for honours come March.”
