Bohemians have snapped up former Ipswich Town and Republic of Ireland U21 goalkeeper Shane Supple.

Supple stunned then Tractor Boys manager Roy Keane seven years ago when he walked away from life as a professional footballer to return to his native Dublin.

The 29-year-old had been playing Gaelic football with St Brigid's and was involved in the Dublin panel as back-up to Stephen Cluxton, before he fell back into soccer with Leinster Senior League side Crumlin United.

He has now made the switch to Dalymount Park as Keith Long strengthens a squad lying eighth in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division table.
