There is no place for Peterborough's Chris Forrester in Martin O'Neill's final 33-man squad for the Republic of Ireland's upcoming friendlies with Switzerland and Slovakia.

Former St Patrick's Athletic midfielder Forrester was named in the provisional 40-man group last week but misses out.

However, fellow former U21 international Matt Doherty, is retained and the Wolves full-back, Brentford's Alan Judge and Aberdeen winger Jonny Hayes could all be in line to make their senior debuts.

There is no place for Sheffield Wednesday 'keeper Keiren Westwood as O'Neill opts for just three netminders (Darren Randolph, Rob Elliot and David Forde) while Anthony Stokes, Darron Gibson, Paul Green and Simon Cox are other established internationals to miss out.

Ireland play the Swiss at Aviva Stadium on Good Friday before facing Slovakia on Tuesday 29 March.
