Derry City have confirmed that the redevelopment of the Brandywell will begin in July, meaning their final six home league games of the 2016 season will be played elsewhere.
City are aiming to return to their home ground for the 2017 campaign and are exploring a number of options for the forthcoming season.
The club are speaking to the FAI about the possibility of reversing six home games from July to October – which would mean playing their final 14 games of the season away from home, with over a full series of games at The Brandywell in the middle of the season.
That scenario appears unlikely with ground-sharing at Maginn Park, Finn Park or Riverside Stadium looking more viable options.
The development will see a new stand built in the ground and the installation of a 3G pitch.
