Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has been named head coach of Spanish La Liga side Valencia.
Nuno Espirito Santo resigned at the weekend, following Los Che's 1-0 loss to Sevilla, and Neville's brother Phil was temporarily handed first-team duties alongside fellow coach Salvador 'Voro' Gonzalez (pictured below).
But today, the Spanish side confirmed Gary Neville's appointment stating: "Valencia CF have today appointed Gary Neville as Head Coach until the end the season.
"He will officially take charge of the first team on Sunday 6 December ahead of the UEFA Champions League match against Lyon at Mestalla on Wednesday 9 December."
Speaking about his appointment Neville said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be given this opportunity with Valencia.
"Valencia are a huge football club of immense standing and I know from my time as a player the passion and dedication of the Valencia fans.
“I am really looking forward to working with the club’s talented group of players and am excited about the challenge ahead.”

Valencia CF President Layhoon Chan said: “We are delighted to have secured Gary so quickly. He combines top-level coaching experience through his role as a senior coach with the England national team and a world-class playing career with England and Manchester United.
“Throughout his career Gary has always shown great leadership both on and off the pitch. He is hugely respected in English football and it was his personal qualities which persuaded us that he was the right choice to lead Valencia until the end of the season."
Valencia currently sit ninth in the table, five points off the Champions League qualification places and 14 points behind leaders Barceelona.
Singaporean businessman Peter Lim owns the Spanish side and also enjoys a 50% stake in Salford City, with the rest split between Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and the Neville brothers.
Neville's appointment has been welcomed by England manager Roy Hodgson, who has confirmed the new Valencia boss will continue to work with the national team ahead of Euro 2016.
"I'm delighted that Gary has decided to take this excellent opportunity," he said. "It's the right moment in time for him and I'm 100% behind his decision to join Valencia as the new head coach.
"As far as I'm concerned, this will be an extra string to his bow and the experience he will gain working in the Spanish league can only be beneficial to our work together with the England team. Gary's commitment to the FA's preparations for Euro 2016 will not be in any way affected by the fact that he will be coaching abroad during the next five months.
"As someone who has spent a large part of my coaching career working abroad, I salute his decision and hope he gains as much from his time in Spain as I have done from the various countries which I have worked in.
Since retiring from his playing career, Gary Neville has made a name for himself as a respected television pundit alongside Jamie Carragher on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football. Former Liverpool defender Carragher had a humourous reaction to the news on Twitter.
Gutted! This reminds me of when Pegguy Arphexad left for Coventry. https://t.co/M535r7L2qo
