Martin O’Neill’s Republic of Ireland side have risen 12 places in the latest FIFA World Rankings and currently sit in 42nd place.
Wins against Gibraltar, Georgia and World Cup holders Germany have propelled Ireland up the rankings and back into the top 50.
Bosnia and Herzegovina, who Ireland face in a two-legged Euro 2016 qualification play-off next week, also made major strides and are up to 20th after a jump of 10 places.
Belgium moved to the top of the ranking list for the first time after overtaking Argentina and world champions Germany following their victories in last month's European qualifiers.
England, who beat Estonia and Lithuania to make it a perfect 10 wins from 10 in the Euro qualifiers, were also among climbers in the top 10, rising one place to ninth.
Northern Ireland are in the top 30 after a successful end to their qualifying campaign say them move up six spots to 29th.
Euro 2016 qualifiers Wales, who will play at their first major tournament since 1958, dropped seven places to 15th, while Scotland are down to 44th after their qualification campaign ended in disappointment.
