Fabio Borini has completed a permanent switch to Sunderland after the Black Cats' dogged pursuit finally paid dividends.
The 24-year-old Italian, who spent the 2013-14 season on loan at the Stadium of Light, severed his links with Liverpool when he signed a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee understood to be £8million with a further £2million in add-ons.
Borini's capture was confirmed by Sunderland on Monday afternoon in a statement which said: "Sunderland are delighted to announce the signing of Fabio Borini from Liverpool for an undisclosed fee.
"The 24-year-old has signed a four-year deal at the Stadium of Light and returns to the club following a successful loan spell during the 2013-14 season, during which he became a fan favourite with 10 goals including strikes against Newcastle United, Chelsea and at Wembley during the Capital One Cup final."
"I am delighted to be back at Sunderland. It is a club I know really well from my time here previously," Borini told the club's website.
"It will be emotional for me to play at the Stadium of Light again and I can't wait to get back on the pitch as a Sunderland player."
West Brom have signed Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard on a two-year deal.
Baggies boss Tony Pulis has been in the market for a new goalkeeper all summer and has turned his attention to Lindegaard after failing in a bid to sign David Marshall from Cardiff.
West Brom had been in discussions with the Bluebirds about Marshall but refused to meet the Welsh club's valuation of the player - reported to be £5million.
Lindegaard had a year remaining on his contract at Manchester United but has now headed to the Midlands.
"Since moving to England I've been impressed with how well West Brom have done in the Premier League," Lindegaard said.
"I had a good chat with Tony Pulis - I must call him the 'gaffer' now - and he convinced me it would be a good move for me and the club.
"From there things moved very quickly. I was very keen to get it done so I can just concentrate on the thing that matters most, the football.
"I am very happy to join and hope I can make a big contribution this season."
The 31-year-old, who joined United from Norwegian club Aalesund in January 2011 for a £3.5million fee, found his first-team chances limited, making the last of 29 appearances 16 months ago in a 4-0 victory against Newcastle at St James' Park.
Lindegaard will provide competition for Boaz Myhill, with regular number one Ben Foster not expected back until October as he recovers from a knee injury.
He is the third player to move from Old Trafford to West Brom this year, following Darren Fletcher and Jonny Evans.
Nottingham Forest have accepted an improved offer from West Ham for winger Michail Antonio, it is understood.
The second bid, thought to be in the region of £7million, comes less than a week after the Barclays Premier League club saw their initial approach turned down.
The Hammers had offered around £5million plus Matt Jarvis on a season-long loan deal.
Forest had also previously rejected bids from West Brom and east midlands rivals Derby for Antonio, who is it understood is due in London for talks on Monday.
Antonio has made a huge impact at the City Ground since joining Forest from Sheffield Wednesday last summer in a £1.5million deal.
He scored 15 goals during his debut season on the banks of the River Trent and has already netted four this campaign - with his goal on Saturday in the 2-1 home defeat to Cardiff seemingly his last for the club.
The 25-year-old has been keen to move and was left out of the Forest squad recently by manager Dougie Freedman following the bid from Derby, with Freedman insisting he was not in the right frame of mind to play.
Should the deal for Antonio go through it could have huge implications for Forest next summer as it could see the club's transfer embargo for breaching Financial Fair Play rules lifted.
More immediately, it would free up a space in the squad for Freedman to sign a player either on a free transfer or on loan ahead of Tuesday night's deadline.
Athletic Bilbao have completed the signing of Spain international Raul Garcia from Primera Division rivals Atletico Madrid.
The 29-year-old midfielder, who played more than 200 matches for Atletico, passed his medical with the Basque club on Monday before putting pen to paper on a four-year contract.
In a statement, Athletic said Garcia will be presented as a new player of Athletic Bilbao at 6pm.
"The player will be tied to the club until 30 June 2019 and his buy-out clause will be €40m."
Pamplona-born Garcia started his career with home-town club Osasuna before moving to Atletico in 2007.
During his stay at the Vicente Calderon - which included a season back on loan at Osasuna - Garcia helped the Rojiblancos win the Primera Division, Copa del Rey, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup and Spanish Supercopa.
He was also part of the Atletico side that reached the Champions League final last year, which they lost 4-1 to Real Madrid after extra time.
Garcia has won two caps for Spain, making his debut against France last year.
Chelsea have announced that 18-year-old academy player Jeremie Boga had joined Rennes on a season-long loan.
Manchester City defender Jason Denayer has joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan.
It is the second successive season the 20-year-old Belgium international has spent away from the Etihad Stadium having impressed on loan at Celtic last term.
Denayer signed a new five-year contract at City in the summer but, with increased competition for places following the recent £32million signing of Nicolas Otamendi, has been allowed to gain further experience elsewhere.
Zambian striker Emmanuel Mayuka has left Southampton to join French club Metz on a three-year contract.
The 24-year-old joined Saints from Young Boys in August 2012 but made only 16 league appearances, spending the 2013-14 season on loan at Lorient.
On Monday night Metz, who were relegated from Ligue 1 in May, confirmed the arrival of 56-time Zambia international Mayuka at the Stade Saint-Symphorien.
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman had earlier this month revealed Mayuka was close to joining Russian side Krylya Sovetov, but the transfer failed to materialise.
