It is being reported this evening that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has banned team doctor Eva Carneiro from the Premier League club's bench on matchday.
Mourinho publicly criticized Carneiro after she entered the field of play to treat injured player Eden Hazard late on in his team's 2-2 draw with Swansea. The treatment meant Hazard had to leave the field of play, leaving Chelsea down to nine men following the earlier dismissal of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
It is believed that Carneiro will continue in her medical role with the club, but only work at the club's training ground at Cobham, Surrey.
After the incident against Swansea, Mourinho told the press: "Even if you are a kit man, doctor or secretary on the bench, you have to understand the game.
"You have to know you have one player less and when you go to the pitch to assist a player, you have to make sure your player has a serious injury.
"I was sure he hadn't a serious problem. He had a knock, he was very tired. But my medical department - on an impulse - was naive."
Former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keyes tried to add his expert opinion to the saga but appears to have forgotten that Juan Mata is long departed from Stamford Bridge.
In defence of the Doc, it wasn't her fault that Juan Mata couldn't kick a dead ball 20 yards & left Chelsea facing a counter attack.
