Dundalk's second round Champions League qualifier against BATE Borisov will be live on RTÉ2 on Wednesday.

Coverage from Oriel Park will start at 19:30 with the match kicking off at 19:45.

Stephen Kenny’s side will be hopeful of turning the tie around after a fine display in Belarus, where they scored an away goal in a 2-1 defeat

Dundalk, led by the magnificent Stephen O’Donnell, looked assured for major spells of the game on Wednesday night and made the journey home with the important away goal thanks to David McMillan’s first half strike.

BATE took an early lead thanks to a goal from Aleksandr Karnitski, before McMillan scored an equaliser in the 33rd minute. Evgeni Yablonski gave the side from the win Belarus with a goal just before half time - but Dundalk were happy with the result against a side that played in the group stages of the Champions League last year.

"The UEFA Champions League is undoubtedly the premier club tournament in world and it is exciting to be able to show a fixture featuring the SSE Airtricity League champions who have a real chance of progressing to the 3rd qualifying round,” said RTÉ Head of Sport Ryle Nugent in a statement this afternoon.

The winner of this tie will face a trip to either Wales or Hungary after the draw was made this morning. The New Saints from Wales are 0-1 down after the first leg against Videoton of Hungary.
