Drogheda United have decided not to appoint manager Mick Cooke for the 2014 season.
The Airtricity League Premier Division side released a statement to RTÉ this evening which read: “Over the past number of months it has become clear that the club and Mick were not of the same mind in regard to the future direction of the club.
“Acting in the best long term interests of the club, the board has decided not to appoint Mick for the 2014 season.”
Cooke took over the reigns at Drogheda in February 2011 and led them to an EA Sports Cup victory and second place in the league last year.
Drogheda are also in this year's EA Sports Cup decider having already reached the Setanta Sports Cup final.
