Damien O’Meara and Wes Liddy are joined by former Munster and Ireland player Alan Quinlan to discuss the opening weekend of the Rugby World Cup.
The Irish team got their campaign off to a successful start with a facile 50-7 win over Canada, while the major talking point from the weekend is Japan’s shock win over South Africa.
Ireland manager Joe Schmidt also features, along with players Paul O’Connell and Rob Kearney.
Quinlan said the players would have been anxious to get going heading into the match and will be relieved following the win.
He said the side could have scored more, particularly early in the second half, but there were a lot of encouraging signs.
“You’re always going to get people who say we want more and it could have been better, but I know what it’s like to be out there and... overall it was encouraging. There was a lot of guys who looked a lot sharper.”
