Connacht coach Pat Lam is determined that the post-match review of the side's narrow loss to Grenoble in the quarter-finals of the Challenge Cup will be of benefit when they host Munster in the Pro12 on Saturday.
A late drop goal from Grenoble saw the French side emerge victorious by a point in the Alps - a heartbreaking defeat for the Irish province - an outcome that now leaves their focus solely on the Pro12.
The Sportsground will see an increased capacity of 7,800 for the visit of Munster on Saturday evening. A cracking atmosphere is anticipated, with Lam determined that the lessons from last weekend's defeat can drive his charges on to defeat Munster and maintain their push to ultimately get a home semi-final in the Pro12.
"I certainly saw a massive lift when we came out of that review session"
Speaking to RTÉ Sport, Lam said: "The video review after the Grenoble game gives you clarity and closure. Guys came off the field and asked 'how did we blow that after playing so well'?
"My responsibility is that learnings come out of it. Once you get that, you can find solutions and then move on. I certainly saw a massive lift when we came out of that review session. We then started to focus on Munster and how we can beat Munster. That process has to happen or else you're just talking about moving on.
"Indeed, a lot of the guys have e-mailed me their solutions. They will work on those and hopefully we'll see the benefit of that this weekend."
As things stand, Connacht are level with Leinster at the top of the table, with Lam acutely aware that matters are now in their own hands.
"We control our own destiny," he added.
"Our number one goal was to make the top six. We have three big games left. We win one out of those three, then a top-six place is guaranteed, if we win two, a top-four finish is guaranteed, which is a massive achievement and if we win three out of three, then we finish in top two and we get a home semi-final.
"As I said, we control our destiny on the basis of the work we've done. We now have to take thins to another level, starting with Munster on Saturday."
