Connacht have signed South African out-half Marnitz Boshoff on a two-year deal.
The 27-year-old, who currently plays for Super Rugby side The Lions, was capped for the Springboks against Scotland in 2014.
He has made 29 Super Rugby appearances, scoring 214 points.
The out-half also featured for the Barbarians in their 2014 tour of England.
Connacht coach Pat Lam said: "A lot of time and research went into identifying the right, experienced out-half to fit the profile we were after".
The New Zealander said Boshoff's experience will be "invaluable" to the side's young backline.
Boshoff said he is looking forward to the move, saying Connacht are playing "really exciting" rugby at present.
He added that he can "fit in to the structure and add something as well."
