Ireland winger Tommy Bowe has reportedly sustained knee ligament damage that could rule him out for six to nine months, which would mean the Ulster man missing next year's Six Nations championship.
The 31-year-old was forced off after sustaining the injury in Ireland's World Cup quarter-final defeat to Argentina and the Belfast Telegraph is reporting that the damage is serious enough to put the rest of his season in doubt.
Bowe has had bad luck with injuries since returning to Ulster from Ospreys in 2012, missing large parts of the 2012/13 (knee) and 2013/14 (groin) seasons.
He is Ireland's second-highest try scorer of all time with 30, 16 behind Brian O'Driscoll.
