Man of the Match Robbie Henshaw has described scoring his first ever international try at home against England as a "dream".

The Connacht centre beat England full-back Alex Goode to grab Conor Murray’s speculative chip and dot down in the corner in the 53rd minute. That put Ireland 17-3 ahead and when Jonathan Sexton’s touchline conversion went over it made it a three-score gap.

From there, Ireland saw out the game to claim their third victory of the 2015 RBS 6 Nations by 19-9 and win their tenth Test win in a row.

Henshaw said the toughness of the encounter was no surprise.

“We knew it was going to be an extremely tough game, and that it was. We knew it would go right to the final whistle. It was just a really good week’s training that we put in to play, it got us ready for the game.”

The try was the 21-year-old's first at international level and scoring it at home made it all the more special.

“I don’t think you could write it better. It was just a dream to get my first score here at home. I’m really delighted with it.”

Ireland are now in pole position in the championship and as the only team with three wins from three have a golden opportunity to claim a second Six Nations Grand Slam.

“We have two huge games, starting off with Wales in two weeks. Our focus is on that now and on getting the win in two weeks.”
