Denis O'Regan has replaced Adrian Heskin as retained jockey for prominent owner Barry Connell.

O'Regan will relocate to Ireland in the summer to take up the new position.

Connell's yellow and blue silks have been an emerging presence on the National Hunt circuit, with the likes of Cheltenham Festival scorer Martello Tower and Foxrock amongst his team.

Connell said: "He's a top jockey and we are delighted to have made the appointment.

"We are expanding our operation, and Denis' ambition is to get back on top-class, Graded horses - hopefully he can do that here.

"He will move over to Ireland, full time, at the end of the summer and will commute from England between now and then whenever we have runners."
