The Irish team has claimed two medals on the opening day of the Para-cycling Track World Championships in Italy.

Colin Lynch took silver in he Men's C2 Individual Pursuit after finishing second in the gold medal ride off against Canada's Tristen Chernove.

Eoghan Clifford claimed bronze in the Men's C3 Individual Pursuit, with the Galway-based rider taking the medal ahead of Japan's Masaki Fujita.

Both men recorded new PBs in qualifying for their respective finals.

The championships are taking place in Montichiari until Sunday 20 March.
