Greyhound trainer Chris Houlihan has donated one of his pups with a fine pedigree to the Limerick Youth Service, as he believes that more young people should get involved in the sport.
The Kerry dog trainer and breeder made the donation so that young people using the service could learn how greyhounds are trained and cared for by visiting his kennels in Ballyduff, near Ballybunion, in north Kerry.
The young greyhound is called Cashen Spirit and made his racing debut in Limerick on Saturday night, where it was supported by the young members of the Limerick youth group and their families.
RTÉ Sport’s Pat McAuliffe went along and joined all those involved. Listen here to see whether the pup could make a winning debut.
