Power avoids dreaded cruciate but faces up to six weeks on the sidelines

Kilkenny forward Richie Power will undergo keyhole surgery to repair the damaged cartilage in his knee.

A scan revealed that Power did not suffer cruciate damage while playing for his club, Carrickshock last Saturday.

The player is expected to be out of action for four to six weeks. Kilkenny open their defence of the Leinster championship on 23 June.
