TJ Reid will captain the Kilkenny hurlers this year after being nominated by county champions Ballyhale Shamrocks.
The club has also nominated Reid’s brother Eoin as vice-captain with Henry Shefflin, also of Ballyhale, next in line if neither makes the starting team.
Reid has not commanded a regular starting spot in manager Brian Cody’s first team though the 22-year-old forward has been close for the past couple of years and featured as a substitute in last year’s final.
