Paul Grimley is the new Armagh senior football manager after his appointment was ratified by the county board on Thursday evening.
Grimley succeeds Paddy O'Rourke, who stepped down after three years in charge of Armagh when they were beaten by Roscommon in the All-Ireland qualifiers.
Working as assistant to O'Rourke and Joe Kernan when Armagh won the Championship in 2002, Grimley makes the step up to inter-county management after spells as a coach in Cavan, Kildare, Monaghan and Meath.
The county board also confirmed that Brendan Hughes will work alongside Grimley as his assistant.
A statement from the board read: "Coiste Chontae Ard Mhacha wish to announce the appointment of Paul Grimley as manager of the senior football team which was unanimously agreed at their meeting held in Morgan Athletic Grounds.
"(We) would like to express our best wishes to them as they begin their work and hope they achieve the success the county and its supporters yearn for."
