Páraic Duffy insists GAA transfer process is 'beyond reproach' after Kieran McGeeney remark

Director general of the GAA Páraic Duffy has said he is extremely disappointed with comments made by the Kildare manager Kieran McGeeney after Sunday's Cavan-Kildare match.

Commenting on the controversial Seanie Johnston saga, Kildare manager McGeeney said that Johnston was "honest" and "tried to do everything above board".

McGeeney hit out at the GAA and said that being honest isn't always the way to do it saying "you're better off being sneaky and telling lies".

Speaking on RTÉ’s Morning Ireland, GAA Director General Páraic Duffy said the integrity of the transfer process is beyond reproach.

He said that despite the reservations of the CCC and many people in the GAA, the transfer was granted and Johnston is now playing with Kildare.

He said there was "nothing sneaky or dishonest about the way the GAA dealt with this matter".
