Toomevara hurler Eoin Brislane has been named the new Tipperary camogie manager.

Brislane, who has enjoyed several stints with the Premier men's senior hurling team, will be seeking double glory in 2010 as he manages both the senior and intermediate camogie sides with Tipperary seeking to end an All-Ireland drought that stretches to 2004.

He takes over the senior squad from Fr Peter Brennan, and having already managed the intermediate panel this season, he will be hopeful of a head start in the New Year.

His own playing career is still going strong with the north Tipperary club.

Brislane said: 'Even though the task of managing both panels will be a huge undertaking, I feel it will be beneficial to train together, as everyone will get a fair crack at wearing the Blue and Gold for the coming year.'

He was part of the county’s senior hurling panel under the stewardship of Babs Keating, Michael Doyle and Nicky English.

Brislane’s selectors will be Gerry Cahill, Trevor Galvin and Carmel Harkin.
