Monaleen (Limerick) 0-07 Carbery Rangers (Cork) 2-11

Carbery Rangers showed their class at the Gaelic Grounds with a confident performance that overwhelmed their hosts.

Three John Hayes points had them 0-05 to 0-01 up after 20 minutes, and Alan Jennings' goal heading towards the break left Monaleen with a mountain to climb.

Trailing by 1-08 to 0-03 as they trotted off for the half-time oranges, any hopes they had of turning this game on its head were obliterated just 60 seconds into the second half when Hayes rattled home a penalty.

Four points on the bounce showed Monaleen were not prepared to throw in the towel, but Carberry regained control of the contest to ease home and into the last four.
