Davy Fitzgerald's tenure as Clare senior hurling manager is reportedly at an end following a meeting of the county panel last night.
The Irish Examiner is reporting that Fitzgerald is to step down in the next 48 hours.
The news follows a report in this week's Clare People that some members of the panel "indicated privately that they would like to see a change of manager for 2017".
According to the Examiner, the players met on Monday night and Fitzgerald is expected to release a statement in the next day or two.

Following his appointment in 2011 Fitzgerald guided Clare to Liam MacCarthy success in 2013, as well as claiming this year's national league title.
Last year, he received the backing of the county board following an early exit from the championship.
Speaking in a recent RTÉ documentary, the Sixmilebridge man admitted that he was unsure about what he wanted to do himself.
Fitzgerald underwent minor heart surgery this summer in the week of his side's All-Ireland quarter-final defeat to Galway.
Following that defeat, he told RTÉ Sport: "The most important thing in life is life."
Meanwhile, Clare dual star Podge Collins has this week revealed he will only be focusing on one code next year, but has not disclosed what that will be.
