Tipperary centre-back Ronan Maher was given medical treatment after the All-Ireland SHC final, but Premier County officials say that it was nothing serious.

Maher was taken out of the dressing room on a motorised buggy shortly after the final whistle following Tipp’s win over Kilkenny.

He was given the once-over by medics after he got sick in the changing room, though Tipperary officials were quick to play down the incident.

While he was receiving treatment his team-mates were celebrating their incredible 2-29 to 2-20 win over Kilkenny at Croke Park.

Maher, along with the rest of the Tipp defence had a stormer, while their forwards were in deadly form.

The inside line of John O’Dwyer, Seamus Callanan and John McGrath in particular were outstanding, landing 2-23 between them across the 70 minutes.

Maher is still only a 20-year-old and he played alongside his big brother Paudie in the Tipp defence.
