Waterford 3-23 Clare 1-11
Waterford are through to the Munster Under-21 hurling final after dismantling Clare and claiming a 3-23 to 1-11 victory at Walsh Park tonight.
Waterford trailed by six points after nine minutes when Oisin Donnellan found the net for Clare, who were assisted by a strong breeze in the first half.
However, a ten-minute spell either side of half-time saw the Deise register 2-06 without reply, with Stephen Bennett landing the two goals.
When Shane Gleeson landed a long-range point after Bennett’s second Waterford led by 2-16 to 1-9 – a Bobby Duggan free Clare’s eventual response.
And while Colm Roche grabbed Waterford’s third goal of the game, Clare could only manage two points during the second half as Waterford qualified for a date with either Limerick or Tipperary on 27 July.
