Dublin and Clare have accepted the Camogie Association's offer of a play-off on Saturday for a place in the senior championship quarter-finals, with the winner due to play the quarter-final tie just two days later.
A draw to decide which team would advance had been due to take place today but the two counties announced this morning that they had jointly decided to boycott the controversial measure after appeals against the process were not heard.
The teams finished level on points and head to head (drawn game) in Group 2, with regulations not providing for any further differentiating factor, such as points difference or points/goals scored.
Wexford had been due to face Clare or Dublin in their quarter-final on Saturday, with the semi-finals taking place a fortnight later on 15 August.
The play-off will take place on Saturday at 2pm in Semple Stadium.
The winners of this game will then proceed to the quarter-final to play Wexford on Monday, with a time and venue to be confirmed.
A statement read: "The Camogie Association Ard Chomhairle took the decision in order to find a solution to the impasse which arose after both Clare and Dublin Camogie Boards withdrew, after objecting to the pre-determined competition procedures to identify the fourth quarter-finalist in the Liberty Insurance Senior All-Ireland Championship.
"Extra-time will be played in the event of the play-off ending in a draw, while extra-time will also apply in the senior quarter-final on 3 August."
