"It's really pathetic that Dublin are able to beat everybody out the gate in Leinster" was the reaction of Colm O'Rourke following the Dubs' facile win over Westmeath in Sunday's provincial football final.
Speaking on The Sunday Game Live programme, O'Rourke added that the Leinster campaign is now "a non-event" for Dublin.
"I long for the day that Meath, for example, can come back and take on the Dubs in a Leinster final. Supporters would love it and you'd have better crowds and a better atmosphere."
Pat Spillane called this year's decider "a dreadful game" and highlighted the fact that three of Dublin's forwards didn't score and the side's wide tally of 16.
As for Westmeath, the former Kerry legend added: "They came with a plan. It was damage limitation and it was a moral victory of sorts."
Joe Brolly said that "Westmeath at their level are a good, entertaining team. They have two or three outstanding players.
"However, watching the defending reinforced his view that a second tier competition is now required.
"There is a top table and we urgently need now a vibrant second-tier competition that is properly resourced and properly publicised. It's unarguable that we need one.
"Every year there are a lot of potentially good teams who are well loved in their counties but end up having only two or three games."
