AFL club Hawthorn sign Dublin dual star Ciarán Kilkenny

Melbourne club Hawthorn have won the race to sign Dublin GAA star Ciarán Kilkenny.

The 19-year-old had been the target of the Carlton Blues over the last year, but Hawthorn came with a late bid to secure the the player's services

Kilkenny captained the Dublin U-21 side to All-Ireland glory last May and made his debut for the senior side in the All-Ireland semi-final defeat against Mayo. Last year saw the Castleknock native represent his county at minor level in football and hurling - reaching All-Ireland finals in both codes.
