Michael Albasini (Orica-GreenEdge) has won stage two of the Tour de Romandie, taking the race leader's yellow jersey in the process.

Jarlinson Pantano (IAM Cycling) and Julian Alaphilippe (Etixx-QuickStep) completed the podium.

Geraint Thomas, who held the GC lead after stage one, had a puncture as the pace of the closing stages of the race heated up and finished down the field.

Team Sky's Chris Froome and Albasini's team-mate Ivan Santaromita lies ten seconds off the GC lead.

Ireland's Nicolas Roche is in 51st postion overall, with his compatriot and cousin Dan Martin back in 101st.
