Fitzpatrick, fighting out of Belfast’s Immaculata ABC in Belfast, belied his tender years as the 19-year-old won on a unanimous decision against Nicholas Okongo Okoth of Kenya in the 60kg lightweight class.
Derry pugilist McGlinchy saw off Kenya’s Elly Ajowi Ochola, again in a unanimous decision, to progress to the semi-final in the light heavyweight category.
Australia's Andrew Moloney ended the tournament of Ruairi Dalton as he cruised to a unanimous verdict over the Holy Trinity boxer in the 52kg flyweight division.
The 19-year-old has proved the star of the competition so far and stunned double European champion and gold medal favourite Andrew Selby of Wales in the opening round.
Paddy Barnes, Michael Conlan, Steven Donnelly and Connor Coyle will be in action in the quarter-finals on Wednesday.
