Trapattoni watches Reid in league action

Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni and his assistant Marco Tardelli were in Craven Cottage on Sunday, with Sunderland's Andy Reid and Fulham's Damien Duff both in action.

Trapattoni's appearance at Fulham's ground will fuel speculation that the Italian is considering calling on Reid once again after omitting the midfielder for the majority of the 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign.

The Republic missed out on a place in South Africa after a heartbreaking loss to France in the World Cup play-off and are now focusing on a organising a series of friendly matches ahead of qualifying for Euro 2012.
