Gamble named in Ireland squad

Cork City midfielder Joe Gamble has been drafted into Steve Staunton's Republic of Ireland squad.

Gamble will be part of the Irish squad to travel to America in order to take part in friendly matches against Ecuador and Bolivia.

Aston Villa's Stephen O'Halloran has also been drafted into the Ireland squad ahead of their departure for New York on Friday next.

Liam Miller, Stephen Elliot, Stephen Ireland, Derek Geary and Caleb Folan all withdrew from the squad.

Colin Doyle - Birmingham City.

Defenders:
