Galway United sign James and Armstrong

Galway United signed two more players on Wednesday as they bulk up their squad for their return to the top flight in 2007.

Midfielder Colm James (23) has joined from Bray Wanderers and striker Chris Armstrong (22) is on his way from St Patrick's Athletic.

Manager Tony Cousins expects to announce some more signings before pre-season training starts on 22 January.

Cousins said: 'We are going full-time professional and I am happy that we are signing players who can add to the quality of our squad. I am also talking to two goalkeepers who haven't played before in the Eircom League. I am also hoping to sign a centre-back, a left-sided player, and a centre-forward before the season gets underway.'
