Former WRC world champion Marcus Gronholm has confirmed that he will take part in the Galway International Rally in February.
Gronholm will race in his Ford Focus in the first round of the new Irish Tarmac Rally Championship from the 2-4 February as a build up to Rally Ireland in November, which is part of next year's world rally championship.
More world championship contenders are likely to compete in Ireland next year to acclimatise themselves to Irish conditions, but as of now, only Gronholm has confirmed.
