Ford named as new FAI Cup sponsors

FAI chief executive, John Delaney has revealed that Ford will take over sponsorship of the FAI Cup.

Ford will take over from Carlsberg starting with next year's Cup campaign. Carlsberg, an FAI sponsor for the past six years, is to continue its overall relationship with the FAI.

They have signed a new deal for four years, which will include Ireland's next World Cup campaign.

The current FAI Cup, which Derry City won in dramatic style when they beat St Patrick's Athletic 4-3 after extra-time in Sunday's final has been retired and a new version will be unveiled soon.
