Prso: Bug will not hit Croats

Croatia striker Dado Prso does not believe the gastroenteritis bug that struck more than a quarter of the World Cup squad will affect their chances in the tournament.

Prso, with Ivica Olic, Dario Simic, Jerko Leko, Bosko Balaban and Anthony Seric, all suffered from ill effects although four of the six managed to play in some during yesterday's 1-0 defeat by Poland in Wolfsburg.

"The only consolation is the illness has happened now rather than this time next week when we will be doing our final preparations for the game against Brazil," Prso told the Sunday Mail.

"I'll be ready for that one - nothing will stop me playing against the world champions."

Prso, 31, plans to quit international football after the World Cup.
