Dundalk FC have hit out at Stockport County, alleging that the Coca-Cola League One outfit failed to pursue the correct avenues in offering trials to two of the Lilywhites' most promising players this week.

Stockport, now managed by former Dundalk manager, Jim Gannon have brought goalkeeper Donal Greene and striker Tiernan Mulvenna to Edgeley Park for week-long trials.

And that has elicited a furious response from the Oriel Park club against the allegedly illicit approach.

Manager John Gill, who replaced Gannon before Christmas, told the Dundalk Democrat: "I am delighted for the lads but
I have to say I am very disappointed with Stockport and the way they have conducted themselves."
