Celtic manager Gordon Strachan has expressed a desire to speak to Roy Keane about a possible move to the Scottish Premier League.
The club issued a statement upon Keane's exit from Manchester United, inviting the 34-year-old to make the first move.
Keane has yet to reveal where his future lies, but Strachan backed the club's words and has opened the door for discussions with the former Republic of Ireland captain.
He said: "Last week we made it clear that if at any time Roy would like to speak to us about his future and Celtic's we would be only too happy to speak to him and I fully support that statement.
"The board and I had discussed exactly what to say about the situation and I agree with the others.
He was a magnificent player and servant for Manchester United who knows all about Celtic," Strachan added.
